Welcome future Netizens! Root Name Service (RNS) is accepting applications soon! Many people have questions about what material they will need to have prepared in order to be accepted. Users can sign in with their email and MetaMask account. To make sure you are prepared for your application, we have put together the following checklist. You will need:
1.Your state-issued ID or Passport.
You will need to upload an image or scan of your state-issued ID. This picture or scan must be legible with no glare.
2. A computer or laptop with a camera.
You will need to scan your face for verification. In order to complete the scan, the computer you are using must have camera capabilities.
3. Photograph of your face.
Next you will need a clear photograph of your face. The photo should have a plain white or light colored background. The photo must be at least 600x600 pixels large. It is essential that your photo be an exact square (ie. 600x600 pixels, 800x800 pixels etc.) If your provided photo is not an exact square it cannot be accepted.
The following is prohibited and will result in your photo being non-compliant:
- Photos taken more than 6 months ago
- Photos with social media filters and effects
- Wearing glasses of any kind
- Selfies
- Group photos
- Photos taken in black and white
4. Credit Card or MetaMask Wallet.
We accept all major credit cards. Additionally we will support a web3 payment option. If you would like to pay with your Metamask wallet, you will need to have sufficient funds in USDC, BUSD, or USDT.
You must complete the entire process to receive your ID. Double Check your application to make sure you enter all information accurately. We can not process your application if your information is inaccurate. The information you submit is end-to-end encrypted.
